Retroactive By Kay Ryan

If reward or
amends could
set the clock
back, as occurs
in fall when
an hour is stalled
for the sake of light,
then our golgothas
could be put right.
The kiss or reform
or return of the
family farm world
soak into the
injury, ease the
knot of memory,
un-name the site
of harm. If there
could be one day
-one hour-of Jubilee
would walk their property.

Cheshire By Kay Ryan

It's not the cat
it's the smile that
lasts, toothy
and ruthless.
It's facts like this
we like to resist-
how our parts
may lack allegiance
to the whole;
how the bonds
may be more casual
than we know; how
much of us
might vanish
and how well
some separate separate part
might manage.

Oh, Forgotten Umbrella...

google.com

People forget who you are.
They walk through many countries,
and the earth rotates,
Day and night shift, confused.
.
Stars have forgotten their names,
All night, they stare at the darkness,
Out of breath, dancing barefoot.
.
O, forgotten umbrella,...
Jupiter skipped you,
Moon winked at you,
Venus spoke to you, from the distance.

The Bear By N. Scott Momaday

what ruse of vision,
escaping the wall of leaves,
rending incision
into countless surfaces.
.
Would cull and color
his somnolence, whose old age
has outworn valor
all but the fact of courage?
.
Seen, he doesn't come,
Move, but seems forever there,
dimensionless, dumb,
in the windless noon's hot glare.
.
More scarred than others,
These years since the trap mained him,
Pain slants his withers,
drawing up the crooked limb.
.
Then he is gone, whole,
without urgency, from sight,
as buzzards control,
imperceptibly, their flight.

Before Nose (For My Hubby)

I'm
where he is.
I was
where he was.
.
What is now
when now becomes was?
I have an an
that is understood as one or wooden clan.
.
Nosy rose has thorns,
Rosy prose has dreams,
I follow his nose here or there,
Our scents are afloat everywhere.
.
He is now,
and we stand as a proud cow,
There is no sense
to decline our record in past tense.

Grunion

Swiftly, east wind
turns hot air west bound-
Dark and wet sky painting-as if
nothing were solid enough
to dwell on.
.
The grunion are growing
to build an air way.

What Color Is Love? By Marjorie E. Tish

google.com

There is gold in the air all around us-
There's blue in the sky above-
There is green in the grass we walk on
but tell me, what color is love?
.
I'm hoping it's wondrously pretty-
A beauty more lastingly kind-
I know if I search in the right place,
A treasure of love I shall find...
So tell me, what color is love?
.
The pleasure of dancing is rhythms;
The pressure on lips is sweet.
The surging of warmth and emotion
is building my heart's quickened beat!
Dear, tell me-what color is love?
.
Sheer madness within me increases
thrill of a fountain of youth...
I know I shall feel happy
as soon as I have chance meeting the truth,
please! tell me, what color is love?

Thinking of Quinn Peony While Admiring Elegant Chrysanthemums

Indianan State Flower: Peony or Hong Mudan

Carpe Diem Chrysanthemums

autumn looks hotter
when peonies outsmart peers to
match chrysanthemums!
.
life is much duller
without chrysanthemums' light,
peony lets it live.

Truth shrouded in lies,
No absolute evidence shown,
time for something new.
.
Books shrouded in east,
The shop is full of new myth,
childhood vowed in past.

New York city Central Park (Lost In The Middle of no Where)

Google.com

Thursday Flash Fiction Week 28: Innocence and Dreams

Scaling small rocks, exhaling smog,
Eyes caught wide open at NY city central park,
Wild like deer, as white
and colorful as a grounded kite,
We caught the butterflies flying high,
decorating the thick faced sky,
Never mind figures of geometry,
Forget about limits or infinity,
Imaginary shapes twists down, each tangle
a well formed triangle,
Lost at the blurring moments,
by heavy sentiments,
Breath is taken by mote of dust,
There is an urge to sting such delicate lust
like bees, but must stop
before getting drunk by the overwhelming honey drop.

Poetry By Christina G. Rossetti

 google.com

why did summer die
making students cry
and birds sigh?
#
why do flowers, that bloom to please,
take no tease from trees,
but smile, wither, and die at ease?
#
Things change or hide
at times, to fit the cycles of life,
no need to ask why.

Honey (Mi) Is Sweet, So Does The Bird's Twitter!

Cardinal sings, the hunter's horn,
then the red door pops open,
Now I hear another honey song,
Sweet music from Heaven,
this time a mockingbird,
the street is filled with chirping word.
.
How long does it take
for us to agree, rise above the fate,
We once are forced to defeat,
and let force tear open the happy gate?
.
To freeze rules is to shut doors,
To loathe disagreement is to start fights,
Let your ears hear the noises,
The carpenter does have his woody choice.
